Getting back on that horse...

This spring has been really bad for my weight loss program. Not having the head together means not getting the body together.

Ever since my meds were changed last summer, binge eating has been a problem. Makes me wish I could go back to what I was taking then, but since we stopped because the old mood disorder was flaring mightily, that's likely not a solution.

Right now, I'm trying to battle my way through on sheer knowledge and will power. Not easy. In fact, it's damned difficult.

I checked an online BMR calculator, and it comes up about 1600 calories a day. That means eating around 1100-1200 calories a day plus doing a bit of exercise to lose. I know I can do the low-cal thing. Tricking myself into doing exercise will be the more challenging piece. Both at once? Hmmmmmmmm....

I've been making jewelry again, the past two weekends. This is the new stuff posted on Facebook yesterday.

Wish me light eating and good sales.

  1. I wish you happiness and that you may walk lightly through the shadows and valleys of life, Sue. I love your jewelry and am looking forward to the skull necklace you just made. You deserve lots of sales and I wonder if taking a table at a Farmer's Market or flea market every weekend might be a good idea? I notice a couple of jewelry vendors at our local markets here. Or a craft shop - perhaps sell on consignment?

Meds will do that to you. I gained weight only after starting psychotropic meds in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The photos back then tell the story. Right now I'm doing community service in a kitchen, hard work, and it's keeping me trim I think. I don't eat there, either, except dry toast occasionally and a half cold cup of coffee. I like it, though. Physical work and functional.

I wish you light eating, Sue. Perhaps your body will become accustomed to the new med regime. 1100 - 1200 calories a day isn't very much. You can't live indefinitely on that.

I'll send you a picture of the new necklace when it gets here. And don't be discouraged if it takes a couple of weeks. You know the border bunnies have to check it out.
